Moving on

Moving on

Though I think we might all have happily spent another day at the Harris museum, it was time to move on. I had booked a familiar bolthole for the six of us to spend the next few days, to celebrate one or two significant birthdays which we’d missed earlier in the year but most of all, to enjoy each others’ company in a place familiar to us, if not for our friends.

But first, we had some shopping to do. We’d be self catering for the week, so a few essentials needed to be bought. Olga, Tony and I headed off to Booths supermarket in St Annes, where the first thing we came across was a selection of amusing, “punny” shopping bags. I knew I needed one, but which to choose? Eventually I chose “Morecambe and Pies” which will mean nothing to anyone outside the UK!

The cars were loaded with “essentials” and around lunchtime, we headed south towards Staffordshire and The Tawny where we were going to stay in Kestrel Cottage again.

It was all just as we’d remembered…

and though it wasn’t quite swimsuit weather right now, I knew it wouldn’t be long before I was in that pool!

We didn’t feel we needed to fill the hot tub in order to accept one or more of those suggestions 😉

Meanwhile, I took a look around the garden and captured a quick snap of this plant, thinking I’d ask Amy for details later. I loved the perfectly pleated leaves!

Meanwhile, the Kestrel was there, watching over his place!
