A Champagne Lunch
With nowhere to drive to this afternoon, it was an excellent opportunity to enjoy a champagne tasting lunch. Head Sommelier iKadek was in the driving seat and with Heru at his right hand, not only were we in for a treat, it was going to be fun too,
There was a lovely menu, starting with house smoked salmon and gravlax tartare
This was served with a glass of Yellow Label Veuve Cliquot.
Next came some King Crab and Tuna Tataki rolls
served with a Dom Perignon Vintage champagne.
There followed a wonderfully tasty black truffle risotto
stylishly served with a Ruinart Blanc de Blancs.
Working our way through the menu at a steady speed, Dita and Deo were taking good care of us! Next, they brought lobster tail with some charred leeks and a caviare beurre blanc.
Heru brought over the Ruinart Rosé - delicious!
The Duck magret was served with potato mille feuille and griotte jus
and a glass of Krug Rosé.
Dessert came in the form of a Pear Bourdaloue Tartelette with crème fraiche
and finally, a glass of Krug Grande Cuvèe.
It was an altogether spectacular lunch and a real treat to learn how to - quoting iKadek here - “to disappear a bottle professionally”. We love these completely unstuffy but beautifully prepared and presented lunches and this one was outstanding in every respect.
Now for forty winks….
