The next chapter in the story

It seems like just last week we were in Mariánské Lázně, recording an opera in the Czech Republic. It was eighteen months ago however and since then, the story has continued.

First, the sound engineer and producers worked on the recording to bring it into shape for the CD production. In April, the CD was released on the NAXOS label.

The first review appeared in the German Rondo magazine with four stars. Great!

Next, the recording was nominated in the longlist for the German Record Critics Award as one of the best Opera recordings of the season.

Last, but not least, my Hero’s Gramophone magazine dropped through the letterbox last week and what was inside?

It all takes time, but good things like this are well worth waiting for. Almost 150 years since the first performance, Dame Kobold can be heard by a wider audience than ever before and it appears that it is very much appreciated.
