Later that day

Later that day

Now, where were we? Somewhere just north of the equator, early afternoon in somewhat changeable weather.

We were enjoying the rather more peaceful setting of our verandah, my Hero catching up on his book and a bit of a snooze, whilst I continued with my needlepoint.

Soon, it was time to head down to the theatre for Trivia and the answers to that tricky Mensa puzzle. The two of us usually get our heads together and solve all the questions eventually, even if some take a bit more head scratching than others.

With a couple of Regent Rewards for the Mensa puzzle and two more for being third in the Trivia quiz, we added to our collection of points and felt happy with a fairly successful team effort today. Never mind all of that, we had some fun with our friends over an Aperol Spritz.

We returned to our suite to find a plate of canapes, left by Conrad, our butler. Usually these are savoury nibbles but today, for the first time, we had fruit. Hmmm. I'm not so sure about those!

A quick shower and change, getting ready for an “evening out” with friends.

When we reach the Horizon Lounge, lovely Dita is there to greet us with a tray of canapes. More food!

We ordered our usual drinks, negroni for my Hero and a Mermaid gin and Fevertree tonic for me. Cheers!

On to dinner with our friends, then, sitting at a table and having fun with our favourite waiter and sommelier. The food, wine and conversation is so enjoyable, we linger and miss the 9.30pm show. In fact, we are almost the last ones in the restaurant tonight.

No matter. We return to our suite and find the best news of all- there isn't a little card warning us of a time change tonight! That surely means there will be one tomorrow, but hey, that's a long way off! There are certificates for crossing the equator, the latest news from home and tomorrow's Passages.

But best of all…

the laundry we sent out this morning is all back, hanging in our closet ironed and ready to wear again. Isn't that just the best thing?!

What a fine ending to a happy day! Here's to another sea day tomorrow (and the day after that too)
