Spotty internet and busy days make for tricky blogging. Today we were in Skagway, but as I began to edit pictures from today I realise that I didn’t have time to post anything about yesterday’s stop in Juneau.
These are such special days. The weather is outstanding and we are filling our time here with wonderful experiences that I want to record and share.
I will. But for now, it’s difficult.
A buoy with a bunch of Stellar sea lions lounging around is just one of a thousand or so pictures I’ve taken in the last few days. Sometime, I’ll be able to sit and work my way through them and choose the most worthwhile. Setting my camera on “burst” when whales come out to play might be the best option for capturing that best shot, but isn’t good when it comes to editing out the sub-optimal.
So finding the one where the orca was actually above the water surface takes a while!
in between all the wildlife fun, there’s been a few celebrations amongst our friends here - anniversaries and birthdays. There might even have been a couple of trivia triumphs to celebrate, not to mention the simple pleasures of being in good company in a gorgeous place on a beautiful day.
Forgive me then, for adding a placemarker for Juneau with a picture of a lovely bronze bear who sits opposite the Alaskan State Capitol - closed on Sundays, but no matter as we’d been before!
Eventually, I’ll catch up!
