The best times

The best times

Since we’ve been home from our travels, we’ve been catching up with our Grandparent duties!

Whilst we were away, Arthur has become more aware of the world around him and is now far more awake and very responsive. He turned twelve weeks old last Thursday and we revel in his company!

I spent a couple of days with them in Exeter last week, remembering all too well how long it takes to get everything ready to go for a walk.

And then, how quickly someone snoozes off in the comfort of his cosy pram

even in the “corner shop” 😉 (Did you recognise it?)

Whilst his Mummy did a little supermarket shopping, Arthur and I waited in the car enjoying a little time together. I told him the story of The Owl and the Pussycat and sang a few songs (including Daddy Wouldn’t Buy me a BowBow) until a very loud noise startled him: it was a loud motor bike zooming by.

So we chatted a bit about motor bikes and he agreed, he wouldn’t worry his Grandma by even considering such a thing.

Once home again, he impressed me during his tummy-time . This was all new to me because when his Daddy was this age, we put our babies to sleep on their tummy. Times change!

All of this was very tiring, so we snuggled for a little while in his nursery and chatted about the busy day we’d had. In no time at all, I felt a little change in his breathing and he was fast asleep.

Isn’t this just the best of times?
